African Body Works is an all-natural, handcrafted personal care line formulated by a scientist to repair, soothe, protect, and moisturize. We highlight the rich, natural resources found on the continent of Africa that have been used for centuries by our ancestors.
African Body Works was created by a Nigerian-American chemist and formulated to maximize each ingredient’s effectiveness. Our brand aims to support and give back to ingenious African people, villages, and businesses.

Meet the Founder
Christen Igberaese
Founder and Head Formulator
Christen is a proud HBCU graduate, mom of two, and wife. Her desire to develop and formulate a brand that represents her heritage while celebrating the African landscape was the inspiration behind African Body Works.
Learning more about the exotic oils, amazing butters, and age-old techniques of her lineage has also created a deeper bond to African culture that has been very gratifying to share through the product line.
